BOLAM "Weekly" Update: Malnourished boy rescued
* MALNOURISHED BOY RESCUED: We rescued a malnourished little boy (both in age and stature) named Tony. We had him tested and he does NOT have HIV. Praise God! GOD is so AWESOME to allow us to be part of this great work. Who are we that we should be so blessed to rescue children and lead them to faith in Christ???
*CHILDREN/STAFF SENSITIZED: We informed our children and staff about and sensitized them to the reality that several members of our Keirungi family will be leaving us in the near future as their adoptions near completion. We reassured our children that God has a specific plan for each one of them—be it in the U.S. or Uganda. Alex, possibly taking after his protégé, the Apostle Peter, was one of the first to pipe up. “I’m not leaving,” he informed everyone. “I like it here.” Love my Alex!!!
* SAMUEL - SURGERY: Samuel will have surgery in the near future on his belly button due to concerns over it protruding. It has bothered him cosmetically for a long time. He discussed this with our doctor during his wellness exam Monday. She also has some concerns medically and advised surgery. Her office is doing a referral. No date has been set.
*SAMUEL - WEIGHT: Please pray for Samuel regarding his weight. He was 20 pounds underweight when we returned to the U.S. a year ago and—despite good ole’ American grease— has not put on a lot of weight in the last year. The doctor advised him to drink protein shakes for the next couple of months to see if that will jump start his appetite. If he continues not to put on weight, she will refer us to a nutritionist.
*THANK YOU: Thank you for your care, concern, support, and prayers for us—the Cox family—and for the children whose lives we are transforming in Uganda with your help. God is great! Let us GLORIFY Him!!!
